Welcome to another Modern Monday!
As you know, with our new format we’ll be streaming this week’s matches live on my Twitch channel at around 2 pm PDT (so be sure to follow or subscribe to know exactly when we go live).
If you happen to miss those or otherwise aren’t available for that, worry not! They’ll be posted here tomorrow morning to watch in their full glory along with a write up of the deck!
While the changes to the Modern Banned and Restricted list don’t go into effect until this Wednesday (April 13th), we did manage to find a sweet Death and Taxes list that not only uses powerful Eldrazi, but also eschews using Eye of Ugin! The deck we’re looking at was once again played to a 5-0 finish in a League by Magic Online user becle918. Take a look.

While the sideboard looks a little all over the place, I’ve been meaning to try out a Death and Taxes list for a while now. What better time than with a deck that has my own pet Eldrazi in it and also survives the format changes? While Thopter Foundry/Sword of the Meek decks could definitely be a force to be reckoned with in the new Modern metagame, white and black are definitely colors that have some perfect answers to the combo, including things like Rest in Peace.
Like I said, the matches themselves will be livestreamed on my Twitch channel or in the window below. If you miss them, make sure to check back tomorrow for an article with my analysis of the deck and the videos that you can watch at your convenience!
Thanks for reading and enjoy the show!
