Omens of the Past is out and I’m brewing up some spicy decks around the newest cards like Piercing Grief. How much revenge can one man handle?
This deck is all about fun. It combines Revenge and other void abilities like Ephemeral Wisp with Xenan Cultist and Crown of Possibilities to build ridiculously large creatures and grind out a win in the long game. I won’t lie and tell you this is an impressive list; I don’t know that you can ever make a Crown of Possibilities deck that is actually competitive, now that it has been nerfed. It is, however, an incredible amount of fun and the kills it gets are delightfully absurd. I’ve personally loved the synergy between Xenan Cultist and Ephemeral Wisp/Piercing Grief, but you really only need one in play to get going, so it could be an alright cut for some additional removal or card draw. Dawnwalker continues to be both awesome and sorely lacking in power here. It has a great effect and a lot of synergy with the deck, but there’s also not a lot of cards that return it, unless you’re already going off with the Xenan Cultist. It could be worth checking out ways to fit bigger creatures into the deck, or to simply cut down on Dawnwalkers for the aforementioned removal and card draw. It’s definitely possible you just want to cut the Crown of Possibilities entirely and focus on winning with the Xenan Cultist. I’d love to see some variations in the comments!
